Friendship Commanders covered the Ramones' classic 1989 song "Pet Sematary" to release as a Halloween single, but also to raise awareness about the issue of addiction. The song was penned in part by longtime Ramones bassist, Dee Dee Ramone, who passed away on June 5, 2002 as the result of a heroin overdose. Dee Dee sought sobriety for thirty years of his short life, and wrote about it openly in his autobiography, Lobotomy.

Money made from the Friendship Commanders single will go to the Hazelden Foundation, to benefit addiction research. All donations will be made in Dee Dee's name.
